The One About BeginningThomas Applewhite

Hello! My name is Thomas, GDA's Programming Officer and Webmaster. Yeah, that's right, I got promoted! Anyways, in response to GDA being online this year, former GDA Programming Officers Seiji and Tino have uploaded my consiousness to GDA's webserver, giving me total control over every technological aspect of the club. However, this thing runs Windows Vista, so I'm only slightly more capable then I used to be. That's okay though, because I can still write Blog Posts!

Blog Posts are both announcement and archive. They're hear to help you keep up with what's going on with the club, as well to memorialize whats going on with the club. I'll make sure to post one every week (mostly), so check back on the weekends after general meetings for more updates.

As for this meeting, we talked about how each of the departments work and what goes on in them. If you don't know what a department is, it's basically an organizational group that covers related disciplines in game development. Here's a brief summary, just so you know, but feel free to reach out to department officers to ask:

Programming: Beep Boop C#

Art: Painting and pictures and stuff

Sound: Makes music and SFX but mostly music

Design: Looks like figuring out how the game plays, really just math

Production: Management, basically

Writing: Fanfiction but without the fan part.

Oh, and if you don't know who the department officers (the organizers of each department) are, check the 'About' tab at the top of the page then talk to them on Discord (link is on the main page).

That's all for this week. I hope to see you all next week!
